In the mid 90's Ken Golden started up what has now become one of America's most successful distritution- and mailorder-companies, The Laser's Edge. Expanding the business to include own production of cd's was the next logical step. Today The Laser's Edge is a three-headed label: the main label (The Laser's Edge) is specialized in prog-rock releases. The subsidiary labels Sensory and Free Electric Sound, was formed with the purpose of releasing progressive metal and fusion rock/metal respectively. Sensory Records is not solely focused on the commercial aspect of music, on the contrary - Sensory Records believes in signing only original sounding and musically challenging bands.

SEAN MALONE - CORTLANDT (###)
- FES 4007 - November 2007 Sean Malone is perhaps best known for his bass and Stick work with seminal death metal band Cynic as well as his later projects with Gordian Knot. In 1996, following the break up of Cynic, Malone recorded his first solo album, Cortlandt. The album was released on the small AudioImage Records label but due to a lack of promotion it quickly became a cult collectible. MÖRGLBL - GROTESK (###)
- FES 4006 - October 2007 Grotesk is the third album from this French trio. Their two previous albums brought them world wide acclaim for their intriguing amalgam of jazz and metal fused together with a strong dose of Zappa-esque humor. Mörglbl was born in 1996 after noted guitarist Christophe Godin decided to form an instrumental fusion rock band. After meeting Jean Pierre Frelezeau (drums) and Ivan Rougny (bass), they decided to work together on the project. With the release of Grotesk, Mörglbl has created an album with cross genre appeal. PATHOSRAY - PATHOSRAY (###)
- SR 3039 - October 2007 Formed back in 2000, Pathosray is one of the best kept secrets of the Italian metal scene. Originally going by the name N.D.E, the band, formed by drummer Ivan Moni Bidin, guitarist Luca Luison and vocalist Marco Sandron, established their own sound as a mixture of heavy metal, progressive metal and 70’s style symphonic prog-rock. The “Pathosray” album is a clever mixture of symphonic arrangements, technical parts and huge melodies. Musically it’s easiest (but not completely fair towards Pathosray) to compare with acts such as Dream Theater, Nevermore, Symphony X, Eldritch or Fates Warning. More info: www.pathosray.com |

BLACK BONZO - SOUND OF THE APOCALYPSE (###)
- LE 1048 - June 2007 The music of Black Bonzo is fixed on a bedrock of 70s hard rock bands such as Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, and Queen. Upon this foundation are obvious progressive influences from Camel, Gentle Giant, Genesis, and Yes. Keyboardist Nicklas Ahlund’s fixation for analog sounds reminds of Ken Hensley’s massive wall of Hammond organ, Mellotron and Mini-Moog. With guitarist Joakim Karlsson offering Blackmore-esque solos as the perfect counterpoint to Ahlund’s intricate playing you will think you stepped into the Way-Back Machine! Vocalist Magnus Lindgren provides as much drama as Peter Gabriel or Jon Anderson could ever muster. CANVAS SOLARIS - CORTICAL TECTONICS (###)
- SR 3037 - June 2007 “Cortical Tectonics” demonstrates continued growth from three musicians who are not content to retread old ideas. Now drawing inspiration from progressive Gods like King Crimson, Voivod and Mr. Bungle, they have added more textural elements, with keyboards and acoustic instruments playing a more prominent role in the music. The music now has a more expansive sound but still retaining their trademark technical elements. Tracks like the 17 minute epic “Reticular Consciousness” is an example of how the Canvas Solaris sound has evolved. SPHERIC UNIVERSE EXPERIENCE - ANIMA (###)
- SR 3036 - April 2007 The band has finalized their 2nd effort, “Anima”, which is a strong follow up to the debut, showcasing S.U.E. from their finest side. The album was recorded by Charles Massabo during the summer of 2006 in Coxinhell Studio Studio and Kallaghan Studio in France and was mastered at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark by Tommy Hansen, giving the music of S.U.E. the extra powerful touch that is needed in today’s music market. Artwork was this time around handled by Björn at Killustrations Media in Germany (www.killustrations.com). The music of Spheric Universe Experience is technical, melodic and possesses a top-notch progressiveness, that can be compared to bands such as Dream Theater, Pain Of Salvation and Fates Warning, but filled with an incredible intensity and an original identity of their own. KNIGHT AREA - UNDER A NEW SIGN (###)
- LE 1047 - April 2007 The Dutch masters of prog return with their long awaited second album “Under A New Sign”. Three years ago Knight Area stunned the progressive rock world with their debut “The Sun Also Rises”. Knight Area creates epic symphonic rock in the vein of Genesis, Marillion, IQ, and Pendragon. Originally conceived as a studio project by the brothers Gerben and Joop Klazinga, Knight Area evolved into a touring band drawing quite a bit of attention in Europe. ZERO HOUR - SPECS OF PICTURES BURNT BEYOND (###)
- SR 3034 - September 2006 Zero Hour is now fronted by vocalist Chris Salinas (formerly of Power of Omens). Salinas’ dynamic vocal range breathes new life into the band, once again taking them back to the heights they hit on ”The Towers Of Avarice”. ). The new line up recorded 7 songs under the guidance of the eminently talented Producer/Engineer Dino Alden. The album is titled "Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond" and is already being hailed as one the years most anticipated releases. In early November, the band will be hitting the road to promote the new album with their first ever shows in the Northeastern United States.
