New label-home in Europe ...

After 2 albums (and 3 re-releases of the back catalogue) MANTICORA have left Massacre Records in mutual agreement with the label. Instead we've signed with Locomotive Music for Europe (who've been our US-record label since "The Black Circus Part 1"). This also means that we now have the same label covering both the EU and US territories, which hopefully should make the promotion campaigns have more impact.

And, in related news, MANTICORA will today leave for Jailhouse Studios in order to begin mixing the new album, "The Black Circus Part 2", which have been recorded during 2006. We hope to have the album ready in less than 2 weeks, and with a bit of luck our labels will be putting it out in the stores before summer.

Updates, updates, updates ...

Manticora will enter Jailhouse Studio with producer Tommy Hansen in April 2006 for the recordings of the upcoming albums. Yes, 2 albums at once! More info on that part soon ...

Lots of updates ...

For the past months, Manticora has been writing material for what is to be their next opus (hopefully a 2006 release). In the meantime, the band is working on incorporating Stefan Johansson into the band as a full-time member, leaving the open slot as lead guitarist closed.

Also, the re-release of Manticora's first 3 full-length albums (Roots Of Eternity, Darkness With Tales To Tell and Hyperion) is now formal. The albums are being released in Europe, Canada and Australia by Massacre Records, in France by Replica Records and in the USA by Nightmare Records.

All 3 albums come with bonus material, which is songs from the legendary Mcd "Dead End Solution" - originally released in 1997 and completely sold out - and all albums have been re-mastered by Andy Horn in Germany, as well as having re-made artwork.

Last but not least, Manticora is working on putting together a DVD that is set for release at spring time next year, if everything works out fine.

Updates ...

The album is FINALLY out now ... here's a little information on what to find on it:

The European version (out through Massacre Records this week), the French version (out through Replica Records in 2 or 3 weeks) and the US version (out through Nightmare Records in a few days) are basically the same, although the booklet has been altered a bit.

It features 8 songs (one for each sin), plus an intro and an outro, which are more or less real tracks but doesn't represent a sin (this is when the main character is reminiscing on his life).

The Japanese version (out today through King Records) features a bonus track, which is a new version of "Private Hell" from the ROOTS OF ETERNITY album, adapted by the current line-up and a bit more "modern" sounding.

The Asian version (out through Melodic Heaven / Universal next week) - features another bonus track, and enhanced cover in digipack + poster. The bonus track is a song from the 2003 demo, which wasn't used for the album as it wasn't part of the concept. The song is called "Spawn of Darkness", and some parts of it were later used on the "8 D.S." disc.

Updates ...

The deals are falling nicely in place now.

"8 Deadly Sins" will be released in October in Japan by KING RECORDS who liked the new disc and therefor decided to pick up their option for it. It's always nice to work together with King Records, as we have had a good experience with them so far, so it was definitely good to hear they'd like to continue the cooperation.

We've also found a deal for Europe/Australia which we'll announce in just a few days - actually, the contract will be signed tomorrow evening - followed by a big party, haha.

We're close to having the deal for USA in place as well, and then of course we're going to look into the South american market, which we for some reason never had any official licensing deals in, although we've been getting tons of fan mail from that region over the years.

All in all, things are shaping up and looking good in the Manticora camp. Check back in a week's time for the next update.

Manticora has booked JAILHOUSE STUDIOS for recording their next album. The album will be produced by Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids, Beyond Twilight, TNT and more) - and the band will be joined on the disc by guest-keyboardist Finn Zierler (from Beyond Twilight).

The title of the new disc is still unknown.

Updates ...

The band have completed their new demo featuring 4 songs (okay, 3 full songs and one 2-minutes intro). It will now be used to shopping for the purpose of obtaining a new record deal.

The band is booked to play at Tex Hot'N'Rock Café in Copenhagen on the 7th of November. It's a very special day for us Danes, as it is the traditional "J-Day"; the day where the Christmas Brew (our favorite beer!!!) is being officially released. This means that there will be LOTS of people in the bars and café's in town, and we hope that many of them will join us at Tex :-)
